Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
Children who join us with learning difficulties are brought to the attention of the school’s Special Educational Needs and Disability Co-ordinator (SENDCo). The class teacher, together with the SENDCo, then discuss the needs of the child and formulate an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) for children if required. Parents are closely involved in the process at every stage. Targets are set for children on their ILP and these are then reviewed by teachers and discussed with parents at least termly.
Further support for children with special needs can come from both within school and through MOD Schools’ support agencies(Educational Psychologist, Speech Therapist and Child Guidance) on island.
Where children are on the special needs register at a previous school they should contact CEAS (Children’s Education Advisory Service) in the UK to register (Tel: +44 1980 618244) – see Episkopi Primary School Admissions Statement.
Please also contact our school office directly to arrange for the SENDCo to call or email back to support your child’s transition from their current school to Episkopi.
